Happy New Year. The times they are a-changin'. We've upgraded to the new version of blogger, with tag, easier editting and other nice features. When I initiated this blog in 2004 (was it that long ago), this was to be an outlet for political essays. When I saw in 2004 how Iraq and the war on terror was the dominating issue, I focussed the blog on the topic of "liberating Iraq". In the past year, I changed again to be more a general political blog. It got inactive at times due to many other projects and activities in my life. This year, I am rethinking again how to evolve the blog. It may have less current events focus and more personal-oriented and topical essay posts. I will have some other online activism activities that may intersect these, but more on that when it bears fruit. I have a few things to say about some important topics - about ideas and energy; about excellence in education; about wealth and success as well as about the economy; and about freedom at home, in Iraq, and in the world.
